About substituted Amphetamines
Substituted amphetamines are a class of compounds based upon the amphetamine structure; it includes all derivative compounds which are formed by replacing, or substituting, one or more hydrogen atoms in the amphetamine core structure with substituents.
History and possible effects of substituted Amphetamines
The compounds in this class span a variety of pharmacological subclasses, including stimulants, empathogens, and hallucinogens, among others. Examples of substituted amphetamines are amphetamine (itself), methamphetamine, ephedrine, cathinone, phentermine, mephentermine, bupropion, methoxyphenamine, selegiline, amfepramone, pyrovalerone, MDMA (ecstasy), and DOM (STP).
Some of amphetamine's substituted derivatives occur in nature, for example in the leaves of Ephedra and khat plants which have been used by humans for more than 1000 years for their pharmacological effect. Amphetamine was first produced at the end of the 19th century. By the 1930s, amphetamine and some of its derivative compounds found use as decongestants in the symptomatic treatment of colds and also occasionally as psychoactive agents. Their effects on the central nervous system are diverse, but can be summarized by three overlapping types of activity: psychoanaleptic, hallucinogenic and empathogenic. Various substituted amphetamines may cause these actions either separately or in combination.

About substituted Phenylmorpholines
Substituted phenylmorpholines, or substituted phenmetrazines alternatively, are chemical derivatives of phenylmorpholine or of the psychostimulant drug phenmetrazine. Most such compounds act as releasers of monoamine neurotransmitters, and have stimulant effects. Some also act as agonists at serotonin receptors, and compounds with an N-propyl substitution act as dopamine receptor agonists. A number of derivatives from this class have been investigated for medical applications, such as for use as anorectics or medications for the treatment of ADHD.

About substituted Phenidates
Substituted phenidates (also known as phenidates) refer to a class of compounds that predominantly produce traditional stimulant effects when administered. A substituted phenidate may be defined as an ester of ritalinic acid and its analogs.
Substituted phenidates are a chemical class based upon the molecule methylphenidate. The molecular structure of methylphenidate is comprised of a phenethylamine core with a carbon chain substitution at the Rα position that links to the RN position, forming a piperidine ring. It also includes a substitution at the Rβ position of methyl acetate.
Substituted phenidates primarily act as reuptake inhibitors of the monoamine neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine, and to a much lesser degree, serotonin. One study found that all substituted phenidates inhibited the norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake transporters 4 to >1,000-fold more potently than the serotonin transporter.
